Just getting caught up on Jasiri X as he is capturing the essence of how this thing called hip-hop got started; that is by reporting on the issues that affect the black/urban community via rap. Apparently he has weekly music videos that are a summation of the weekly events, this week in particular focuses on the re-emergence of ‘Blackface’ entertainment; as featured on CNN and YouTube.
I really don’t give a f**k. Even if you are talking about me or not, you are so irrelevant from my world that the best thing that I can say, well, what I WISH I could say, is by the great lyricist Styles P in a bar, “I don’t give a f–k who you are, so F–K who you are!”. Yup, that sums it up definitively.
Euphemisms are literal devices in languages; as it provides people to be genuine in the verbal manisfestations of their cognitions with regard for other’s sensitivity. In Laments terms, a euphemism is a substitution of an agreeable or less offensive expression in place of one that may offend or suggest something unpleasant to the listener.
A color wheel would of shown what colors do not match, but I guess that was a mute point since Cross Color had a cultural significant meaning behind it (wiki them to find out). I would say that LRG (Lifted Research Group) is the Cross Color of today; in terms of making clothing with political and social messages – but LRG looks much better than Cross Color ever did.
I am sure we all can recall a time when one of the best part of buying a CD was ripping the plastic, and opening the album artwork to see the credit, the pictures, lyrics, etc. That was a personal feeling and connection between the purchaser and the artist; which gave the CD far more relevance than the audio on the optical disk could ever have.
