Apple presents the iRack
A classic funny parody from Fox’s MadTV correlating American Foreign Policy and the craziness that is Steve Jobs and the Apple ‘Fan Boys’.

Google is not one to make TV ads, but this year they decided to get into the mix – while usual SuperBowl Ad companies like Pepsico have decided to pass up the SuperBowl Ad nauseum (strange reversal of fortunes).
College Humor goes in again at Apple and their recent iPad device – which we all know, is such a bad name for a product, but I am sure we will get used to it – just like we got used to the ‘Nintendo Wii’.

All about ambiguity
Part 2 of the ‘Funny Double Entendre’ series (check pt.1 here), this time these are some funny newspaper headlines that are in a desperate need for an edit. The main literal problem with these headlines is the ambiguity in some of the word(s) – without the proper context, the headlines have multiple meanings.
.
.
– the ambiguity lies in whether we put our children in the oven with the cookies, sounds like circa 1940’s Nazi Germany
.
.
– really? Could the fact that jet crashed already lead one to a conclusion that ‘something went wrong?’
.
.
– ‘Nine Months’ need to be explained – are the drunks put inside the violin case for a pregnancy term?
.
.
– Captain Obvious to the rescue!
.
.
– newspaper headlines should be ran by at least three different copy editors

Some fly abstract art of the beautiful winter substance called snow; you know, the stuff that causes many accidents, messes up your car, but pleases kids as they make snow shapes. Anyhow, here is some interesting art inspired by snow.

Grinders is a series that features people overcoming adversity and hardships in order to achieve their dreams and goals.
In this clip, Comedian Funnyman Brandon discusses his rise & grind in the comedy game and the common usage of ‘typecasting’ in the entertainment industry.
A very funny segment from MadTV awhile back focusing on some classic Blaxploitation film characters: Dolemite & Black Belt Jones. Dolemite is a ghetto version of James Bond, and Black Belt Jones is a afro-funked version of martial arts legend Bruce Lee.

Timbs, Timbos or Timbies
The utility boot that was originally designed for hiking and mountaineering, is probably more popular for its usage and wear in hip-hop culture. Since the mid 90’s, the Timberland boots have been a staple in hip-hop culture – from the young Mobb Deep due of Havoc & Prodigy walking Queens, NY in their Timbs in Shook Ones, to the current female video vixens that rock cute pink Timbs, Timberland boots help to define the hip-hop era. You can simply look at a Timb and know what year, or what trend was popping around that time. I always wanted a Timb in high school, but couldn’t afford the high price – I know have one, and I always revert back to it for snow/rainy weather. You can tell the success of a product when the good ‘ol bootleggers in China try to start selling knock-offs, and when there are many imitation brands (pointing at YOU ‘Lugz’, are they still around?).
The Custom Joints
With a popular brand, comes the demand for custom designs to your product – mostly by third-party sources. Here are some interestign ones:
The Dead Presidents Timb

.
.
The Designer Timb

.
.
The Louis Vuittion Timb

.
.
The Scottish Timb

.
.
The Full House Timb

Overall the Timberland line has flourished in the past 10 years or so opening many retail stores throughout North America and the U.K., and have grossed yearly revenue sales that have climbed into the billions. Another brand that has benefited off of hip-hop culture – hope they give back.

New music video for Jay-Z feat. Swizz Beats “On to the Next One” from Blueprint 3. Interesting imagery used here; this video will only fuel the “Jay-Z is a satanic worshipper rumors”. Otherwise, interesting video though – much better than the rest of the garbage out there.

Off of his new album ‘Lasers’, was leaked late December and apparently he is pretty mad; I would be too, because this song is fire. Production by the Neptunes is on point, Lupe brings the lyricism as usual, but don’t know if radio will embrace this because it is such a departure from the ‘burrrr’ shit that is on the radio now. But maybe 2010 will be the turn back to ‘GOOD’ music.
