Salient Eyes

All in the eye of the beholder

Excuse the mundane catch-phrases when it comes to the eyes, but they are hard to resist.  Not much to elaborate on, other than the fact that the eyes can mean so much, infer so much, and can cause so much behavior from others … so why not feature the ‘eyes’, and allow you (the viewer) to interpret the meaning from it.

The literal meaning of the eyes are: organs that detect light, and send signals along the optic nerve to the visual and other areas of the brain. Complex optical systems with resolving power have come in ten fundamentally different forms, and 96% of animal species possess a complex optical system. Image-resolving eyes are present in cnidaria, molluscs, chordates, annelids and arthropods.
